SEPIA

This gallery contains prints that have been made to look like sepia toned prints, this was popular in the late 1800s for both its aesthetic appeal and its ability to help preserve photographs, sepia toning makes the print more resistant to the effects of atmospheric pollutants, particularly sulfur compounds, which can cause fading and degradation in traditional black and white prints, this is the reason why some of the oldest existing photographs are in sepia, but with new chemical processes sepia tone prints gave way to black & white photography that we know today, but the process still continues to be used today, to create a nostalgic or antique look, if you want nostalgic looking prints here are a few.
